We’ve hired Karen Hlavaty-Pearson, RN, BSN, COS-C, as the Caring House Resident Care Manager. Karen will lead all resident care services, supervise our dedicated team of 24/7 caregivers, and serve as administrator.
Karen brings 20+ years of nursing and health service administration experience. She has directly served hospice patients in their homes and other settings. And her administrative work includes clinical review, quality management and staff training. Most recently Karen worked as a field nurse for Torrance Memorial Hospice. Her duties there included coordinating care and services for hospice patients and families, evaluating hospice patients and responding to emergencies.
Karen’s passion and dedication to care for those at the ends of their lives shines through, and we’re excited that she’ll become a key part of the work of Caring House. Karen’s first day at Caring House will be November 10, 2014.
Caring House supporters in our South Bay community reached out to Karen and brought her to us. Again showing that Caring House is a project by our community for our community.
