Sister Terrence Landini cares

Sister-Terrence-and-Karen-03We had a wonderful visit with Sister Terrence Landini, LCM, at Caring House last Wednesday. Her 90-minute stay included not only a thorough tour of our home but a wide-ranging conversation with Karen Hlavaty-Pearson (our resident care manager) and Barbara McAuley and Pat Simonetti (both nurse volunteers).

The Little Company of Mary Sisters is an international congregation of women religious who have committed their lives to pray and care for the suffering and dying of the world. Sister Terrence celebrates more than 60 years year in religious life with the LCM Sisters. Much of that time has been at the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, California.

As you might expect, Sister Terrence cares strongly about Caring House and our mission of caring for those at the ends of their lives. During her visit she repeatedly sought ways that she and the community can support the work of Caring House –through equipment, volunteering and donations.

A soft-spoken, savvy dynamo, Sister Terrence serves on the Community Ministry Board of Providence Health & Services South Bay service area. Caring House feels blessed that she also serves on the Caring House Circle of Advisors.
