Anne Sophia “Simmie” Shub Geller has come to live with us at Caring House. We are honored.
Simmie was born in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, the third child born to Sam and Rose Shub. Simmie was raised in Timmins and attended Timmins High School.
Simmie attended Shaw Business College in Timmins, and became a topnotch secretary with excellent shorthand skills. Simmie had a variety of positions at Massey Ferguson plus others employers in Toronto. She worked at Goody Hair Products for several years and also at a scissors sharpening company.
Simmie met Milton Geller at a dance in Toronto. They married and lived in Timmins, Los Angeles, Florida and then back to California.
Simmie’s hobbies include bingo, crosswords, puzzles, reading, singing and laughing.
Simmie is known for her wisdom, spirit, being direct and expressing her opinion. She is also a wonderful listener.
In her life, Simmie has touched many. A genuine soul with a remarkable memory, Simmie loves to share stories of the past. Always looking on the bright side — even when she broke a rib at 92 she never did utter a complaint.
We are glad that Simmie is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this spirited, caring communicator.
Simmie died on October 16, 2018. Honor her. Remember her.
