Ron, also known as Papa Bear and Poppy, was born in St. Louis, Missouri. The second child born to Audrey and Bonnie Kelley, Ron was raised on a farm in Forsyth, Missouri. Growing up Ron loved working on the farm with his brother Wayne and he loved school and learning.
Ron spent four years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He then worked at TRW as a test conductor and spent some time in Florida working on special missions and launching satellites. Ron worked on the engine that brought the first astronauts home from the moon.
Ron’s son-in-law introduced Ron to his wife Faye at a country-western dance. They married and began their life together in Gardena, CA. Ron has two children, Mike and Melinda. Faye has three, Karen, Mike and David. Between them they have nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Ron and Faye love dancing and took First Place in a competition in Maryland. Ron also loves listening to music, exercising and learning.
Ron loves to shop and find good deals. He is known as the “King of Hawaiian Shirts”.
We are glad that Ron is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this caring family man and learner.
Ron died on January 17, 2019. Honor him. Remember him.
