Mignon “Mimi” Benjamin has come to live with us at Caring House. We are honored.
Mimi was born in Dallas, TX, the third child of Ira R. Thomas, Sr. and Delena Thomas. The family moved to Los Angeles where she was reared. She later on lived in Carson, CA.
Mimi attended David Starr Jordan High School in Los Angeles. She continued her education at Los Angeles City College in Hollywood, CA and Litton Trade School in Woodland Hills, CA.
For the majority of her career was at Hughes Aircraft in Culver City, CA. There she worked as a blueprint and assembly technician. Mimi developed several avionics patents while at Hughes Aircraft. For a time she also worked as a sales clerk at National Store in LA.
Mimi’s keen mind is ideally suited to her love for the games of bridge and bid whist, and she has attended many tournaments. She also enjoys cooking.
Mimi is adored by her two children, Anthony Watson and Lyric Benjamin (Williams), her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
We are glad that Mimi is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this bright and loving mother and grandmother.
Mimi died on February 23, 2019. Honor her. Remember her.
