Meet Martha Podue

Martha Podue has come to live with us at Caring House. We are honored.

Martha “M.A.” was born Martha Adams in Grubville, Missouri. At the age of nine her family moved to San Pedro, and she has lived there ever since.

It was also in San Pedro where she met Nick Joseph Podue – it was love at first sight! They married and began their life there together. San Pedro is also where they raised their three children, Nick Anton, Anthony Martin and Jennie Gail.

Martha dedicated many years to her family as a full-time mother, but also worked as a telephone operator, first with Pacific Telephone, and then for twenty years for Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Harbor City.

Martha loves reading and doing puzzles. She is known for her love for her family – and for her dignity.

We are glad Martha is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this dedicated, strong and caring woman, and her family.
