JoAnn Linton has come to live with us at Caring House. We’re honored.
JoAnn was born in Sylva, NC, the oldest of three children. She grew up in Charleston, WV, wed William Robinson and had eight children – Mary, Debra, William, Cheryl, Stanley, Linda, Larry and Michael. William Robinson was an enlisted Air Force Non Commissioned Officer stationed in South Dakota, Indiana and Turkey. Technical Sergeant Robinson died in 1971 while stationed in Turkey.
As a widow, JoAnn relocated her family to Huber Height, Ohio, near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It was there that she met and later wed Captain William Linton, Jr. JoAnn and Captain Linton adopted three children (William and twin girls – Ramee and Alisha), while serving at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Los Angeles Air Force Station, California. Later they moved to Scott Air Force Base, Illinois and then back to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. After her husband retired from the Air Force they’ve lived in Southern California, where he worked for The Boeing Company in Seal Beach, CA.
JoAnn’s family is hugely important to her. Her main occupation was always the “Family Manager.” She feels blessed that ten of her eleven children are still alive, and they they’ve brought her fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. JoAnn has always loved working with young children, taking that love outside her home to work in and operate children’s daycare centers.
JoAnn is also known in and beyond her family for her love of sewing – from designing and making custom clothing for her children to making clothing on consignment for dolls and such. She loves arts and crafts, traveling and playing slot machines at the casino. Rhythm and Blues and smooth Jazz are her favorite music styles.
We’re glad that JoAnn is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this woman whose life has focused so much on caring for others.
JoAnn died on January 8, 2018. Honor her. Remember her.
