Meet Jack Tomlin

Jack TomlinJack Moore Tomlin has come to live with us at Caring House. We are honored.

Jack was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, the eighth child of William George Tomlin and Leila Moore Tomlin. He was raised in Long Beach, California, where he attended Long Beach Polytechnic. As a youth he worked in a drugstore, having to take care of himself. While still in high school, he joined the U.S. Army in November 1945.

In September 1956, on a blind date, Jack met and fell in love with Doris Matson Tomlin, and the two were married less than one year later in August 1957. Together they have raised two sons, Dwight and Mark.

Aside from Georgia and Long Beach, Jack has also lived in San Bernardino and Lawndale, and most recently Torrance. He loves his church, where he serves as deacon, elder and teacher. As a hobby he enjoys collecting glassware and antiques. He also loves gardening – and his pets!

We are glad Jack is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this beloved family man and veteran.
