Meet Irwin “Irv” Gerst

Irwin “Irv” Gerst has come to live with us at Caring House. We are honored.

Irv was born to Samuel and Blanche Gerst in Chicago. He joined the Army, and fought mosquitos and tsunamis in Waikiki and Hilo, Hawaii, before representing our country in World War II.

Upon returning from the war, Irv attended LA City College and proceeded to earn an MBA from University of Southern California. Over his career in finance, he worked at both Hughes and TRW.

Irwin and Yola were set up on a blind date on Independence Day, 1951, and were married in June of 1952. They have a daughter, Sharon, and have traveled all over North America camping on vacation.

In his free time, Irwin has always loved reading Time magazine.

We are glad Irwin is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this talented husband and father.
