Meet Della Cluff
Della Mae Cluff has come to live with us at Caring House. We are honored.
Della was born in Bemidji, MN, one of five children of William and Gladys Grover. She was reared and educated in Bemidji, graduating from Bemidji High School. Della was athletic and played softball for several years as a pitcher.
In 1949, she married Wallace (Wally) Cluff and together they had two children, Ronald and Julie. They moved to Northern California where they lived for 35 years.
Della’s love of sports was passed on to her kids. She was involved with her son’s little league when he played baseball. She’s always loved traveling, camping, boating, playing cards, and games.
In 1991, Della and Wally moved back to Bemidji. When Wally passed away in 2014, she sold their condo and moved to Birch Haven. There she enjoyed the company of many wonderful people, some of whom she loved to beat in ponytail canasta!
At the age of 91 in May 2018, Della moved back to California to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Della loves their cat Peaches and their dog Sam (her “favorite dog ever”). Sam would jump in her lap if she was eating a cookie so he could lick her fingers.
We are glad Della is with us at Caring House. We look forward to caring for this woman of many interests.
