Home for the Holidays
During this time of year, Caring House becomes a “home for the holidays” for our residents and families, so we try to fill it with extra holiday cheer – from holiday decorations throughout the house to holiday dinners provided by our caring volunteers. You can watch a video showing off the holiday decorations in our living and dining rooms on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube.

Last year, our volunteer Lynne Zamarin coordinated with the elves at JoyCatchers to provide mini trees for each of our bedrooms, as well as other areas throughout the house. This year, she brought us more JoyCatchers mini trees for each of our caregivers to take home with them. Lynne says the trees are “created by one person’s caring heart and hands, to give to another,” and most of them go to seniors, veterans and adults in need of joy on various occasions throughout the year.
We also filled the house with holiday music throughout the month of December. In addition to our volunteer Anne Destabelle who plays the piano for us regularly, the musical duo of Rene Ayala and Jamie Caretta joined us again this year, singing a variety of holiday tunes for our residents, families, staff and volunteers. The McCandless family also came by to sing carols throughout the house, warming the hearts of our residents, families and staff. We are so grateful to everyone in our community who makes this time of year a little brighter for our residents and families.
