Glenn Wishon MD was just elected to the Caring House board of directors.
Glenn was born in Long Beach, California and attended UCLA as both an undergraduate and in the school of medicine. His Internship and Residency were at Harbor UCLA Hospital in Torrance where he pursued Residencies in Family Practice and Internal Medicine, as well as an abbreviated stint as a Fellow in the Division of Cardiology.
He maintained a private practice of medicine in Torrance and then Redondo Beach from 1977 until 2003, when health problems forced a change of direction. He turned an avocation for information technology and a passion for medical quality into a consulting position with Providence Medical Institute, bringing the electronic health record to South Bay physicians for the first time.
More recently he turned his passion for medical quality into a position at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance and San Pedro as their Clinical Quality Specialist, where he served for seven years, retiring in 2018.
Glenn is a pilot and loves to fly with his co-pilot wife, Cindy, all over the western United States. He is an accomplished photographer, specializing in large-format B&W art images, and enjoys woodworking, embellishing their home and those of his two sons and their families.
Having a strong, experienced, capable and involved board of directors is key to the success of a nonprofit like Caring House. We’re thrilled that Glenn is now a part of our board and leadership. Glenn also is an early member of Doctors for Caring House.
