Community award for Caring House

We’re proud to be a recipient of a 2018 Celebration of Community Award sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Torrance and Torrance Mayor Pat Furey. Ed Long and Karen Hlavaty-Pearson represented Caring House at the Awards Luncheon held last week at The Depot Restaurant.

The Award recognizes organizations found to be outstanding in serving our community. Pictured below are Mark Waronek (from Supervisor Janice Hahn’s office), Karen, Ed, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, Kiwanis Club President Guy Puckett and Torrance Mayor Pat Furey.

Caring House was created by volunteers and donors in our community — to serve our community. We thank the Kiwanis Club of Torrance and Mayor Furey for recognizing the work of Caring House to improve the end of life experience for men and women and families in the South Bay.
