Beka Malloy joins the Caring House Board

Beka Malloy, RN, BSN, CCRN, CHPN Beka Malloy, RN, BSN, CCRN, CHPN  has been elected to the Caring House Board of Directors.

Beka is a member of the Inpatient Palliative Care Team at Providence Little Company of Mary in Torrance, where she has worked for the last six years. During that time, she has assisted with the Advanced Joint Commission Certification for Palliative Care, has developed a Legacy Program within the hospital, and has developed an initiative to enhance earlier Palliative Care referrals in the Emergency Department. She previously served as an intensive care nurse and a faculty member for ELNEC-Critical Care, and she authored a chapter in the fifth edition of the Oxford Textbook for Palliative Care Nursing.

Beka strongly supports the value and commitment of Caring House to support those within our community who are or who have family members nearing the end of their lives. She said, “I have witnessed first-hand the impact that Caring House has made on the community, and I want to see the organization continue to grow and flourish.”

In addition to nursing, Beka has volunteered with the Los Angeles Chapter of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of America (LLSA), and in 2013, she was first runner up for “Woman of the Year,” raising more than $50,000 for LLSA in of support leukemia/lymphoma research.

Originally from the Washington, DC area, Beka moved to Southern California to begin her nursing career, and she currently lives in Manhattan Beach. She enjoys jogging, hosting celebrations, going to the beach, playing cards, traveling, and being with friends and family.

Having a strong, experienced, capable and involved Board of Directors is key to the success of a nonprofit like Caring House. We’re thrilled that Beka has joined our Board and leadership. She is also a proud member of Nurses for Caring House.
